Not too far from St Helens Central this is a very basic pub. 2 roomed with the public bar to your left on entering. To the right is the lounge, which is split into two and there is a pool table to the rear. The servery is in the bar and there are 3 handpumps. Only one on today dispensing George Wright Blonde Moment. The pub has basic decor.

Paul Tallon left this review about The Union Inn

A family and dog friendly traditional pub serving quality beers, wines & spirits. Cask Ale is always available at £2.20 a Pint (October 2011) CAMRA members getting 10p discount. All live Rugby League and Football is shown and there is regular karaoke on a Friday evening. Sunday evening boasts live artists and bands. The only reason I never gave this pub 10 out of 10 is because it doesn't serve food, saying that there are numerous restaurants in the local vicinity, maybe food is best left to them. Excellent pub, friendly staff, close to St Helens Central railway station, bus station and the nearly completed St Helens rugby league ground.
