Back street local with five hand pumps, mostly Greene King beers, with St Austell Tribute - not so much a guest as a lodger. I had a half of the IPA, my first since it was reduced to 3.4%abv - a much less pleasant beer than it was; can they really not afford to put hops in their beers? The pub is a friendly, neighbourly place, with groups of friends enjoying themselves to a background of music from local singer guitarists. A local pub for local people.

A nice local pub just off the main road, which has a good family feel to it. Locals and staff were sociable, and we felt very welcome here. Maldenman, below, describes the interior well. There are some tables and chairs at the front, and a private garden at the back, which adjoins a modern extension housing a small, comfy snug and a games room with a pool table. The single L-shaped bar is timber-clad and floored, they host local live acts and the chat is inclusive. There are also several original paintings dotted around the walls, some of which are for sale. Ales on were Deuchres IPA, Castle Rock IPA, Tribute and GK IPA. There was one more pump clipped Woodford Wherry, but that went off as we went in. They host quiz nights and various live music acts, and the regular clientele come from miles around to be here. Definitely worth including in a crawl.

An L-shaped and boarded room with the bar central, the longer side extends on to a conservatory with a pool table and a garden beyond. Pew style bench seating and stools, wooden cladding to some walls, there a few shelves of books. The bar counter is in light wood, various articles on shelves including a Ziggy Stardust figure. The welcome was warm and friendly from who I took to be the landlady, beers were St Austell Liquid Sunshine, Saltaire St Titus, Six Bells Bitter, I expect this is GK rebadge as they do, Wadworth's Dirty Rucker was turned around. TVs showing the blasted tennis, food served with Sunday roasts at a decent sounding £8.95, there is a quiz on Monday nights. Decent looking community pub.
