Steve C left this review about The Kirkfield

The bar of the Kirkfield Hotel is located directly throughout the left hand entrance and a lounge area is located through the right. I poked my head into the carpeted lounge to see some hotel guests enjoying some quiet time late on a Tuesday afternoon, I think one of them may have been asleep. The bar area to the left has mosaic patterned tiles throughout and seating is found to the right. To the left is a stool lined bar counter along the rear wall that faces a high table with more stools. A television on the wall at either end of the bar area was playing muted Sky Sports News whilst some background music played. In the bar were a couple more hotel guests in the seating area and a couple of locals were sat at the bar that supports five premium keg products and five hand pumps. One of these was unused and one of the clips was unreadable, so I can confirm the presence of Chapter Brewing’s Tilted Pieces, Twisted Wheel’s Wall of Sound and Blackjack’s Blonde. I went for the Blonde which was served well. The smell of food led me to believe that there was a dining area at the rear, but I didn’t investigate. My visit was enjoyable, especially considering that this is a hotel bar. I’d pop back in if passing.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Kirkfield

Hotel, restaurant and bar on the main drag through Newton, but to the eastern end of town.

Passing through the hotel's main entrance, you arrive into a large space for diners, with a bar serving only keg products. To the far left as you face the pub is a separate and smaller bar dispensing real ales, known as the Kirkfield Taps. 4 handpulls were yielding Weetwood Cheshire Cat, Mobberley Brewhouse Chinook, Team Toxic Wake Me In A Thousand Years & Escape Tom, Dick & Harry on my Thursday morning visit.

Just one other customer was in, with background music creating a pleasant atmosphere. There were no sign of any hotel guests nor anybody taking advantage of the advertised breakfasts.
