a good Irish bar that doesn't try too hard to flaunt its Irishness - it's perfectly decorated. three areas to sit besides the main bar and there were people in all of them this afternoon though the atmosphere was quiet. no doubt it's livelier later on. no real ale but Hophouse and some Opengate craft keg available. you're here for the Guinness though.

Had to visit in view of it's name. Typical Irish bar with nothing much to inspire me.

Top o' the mornin Oirish bar and a good one to. Quiet of a day usually packed of a night. If you avoid the professional Irish bores its much better. Lots of old Erin clutter around plus a selection of Gaelic footy tops dotted around the wall. And its Pogue Mahone not Mohone.

Bills itself as the home of Liverpool’s best pint of Guinness, I’m not an expert on Guinness but it tasted pretty good to me and you get the choice of it being at the proper temperature for stout or icy. Otherwise nothing special or interesting about the keg only beers on sale. It is of course a proper Irish pub rather than some harmless boozer that has been set upon by a pubco marketing team and “orished”. Subdued lighting and bare brickwork with mixed seating arrangements, a few sofas and some tables and chairs form the décor along with flags of various Irish counties and some sports shirts. There is a big screen used to show Irish sport on occasion.
