A huge pub at the top end of South Road. There are multiple rooms including a small snug. Outside is a huge garden with loads of tables and a small children's play area. Friendly service during both our visits during the two days we were in Waterloo taking advantage of the suntrap garden. Only one beer on the handpumps which was Black Sheep Bitter. I usually avoid this like the plague as it seems to be the default beer for pubs that don't really do cask ale. In this case I was completely wrong and I had two of the best pints of this beer that I've ever had. Another positive is that they also offer a CAMRA discount. This is a Greene King Hive pub, but there is very little evidence of it's ownership around the pub. Very happy to call in here again, especially on a sunny day.

Nice sprawling high street pub with loads of areas to sit. the part I was in had a big roll down TV screen and a stage for music. Food menus scattered around. Two real ales on which were Shropshire Gold and something else i have forgotten. Not cheap at £3.80 though. Decent pub I thought. I also got no impression of it being a Greene King operation.

A good old fashioned sort of pub with a good range of ales. At time of visit it was perhaps a little dominated by a clutch of locals right in the middle watching the sport, but a diversion through the side area found an empty space in the rooms beyond.

An attractive pub from the outside and reportedly the area's oldest pub. WhatPub has this down as a Greene King pub, but none of their beers were anywhere to be seen, so I suspect it may have changed hands at some point. Six pumps at the bar, spread across two banks, With Waterloo Sunset by Rock the boat duplicated across the two banks, joined by Phoenix Arizona and Formby Blonde by Red Star. The price of my half was reasonable and I was asked if I had a CAMRA card. A chalk board above the bar lists the ales available and included one which I assume was coming soon. I found the Waterloo Sunset to be a rather average golden ale but by no means offensive. Overall a nice pub and one I would be happy to give another try.

This is arguably the best pub, tradition wise, on the Waterloo strip. A multi roomed pub with a country pub feel. 5 handpumps with Old Golden Hen on 2, Tim Taylor Boltmaker and Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. The other pump was unused today. A pleasant pub.
