The former English Rose has now reopened as the Cookhouse. The place has had a major refurb recently and is now trading as a 'pub and carvery'. Mainly open plan with a variety of areas to sit, though the bar does separate front and back areas. The carvery is situated to the right of the bar. As with all carveries the ever pervading smell of roast dinners wafts through the pub. There is a beer garden to the rear. There is also an 'ice cream parlour' which is basically a counter joined to the carvery. There are two handpulls on the bar with Big Bog Peat Bog Porter and Theakstons Black Bull Bitter.
