I found this pub a bit depressing to be honest, although the interior remains beautiful and quite well maintained. Admiral Taverns, master pub closers, are advertising it as To Let outside but it remains open. No real ale at all, a stark contrast with the hundreds of old pump clips all over the ceiling- how sad is that? No clientele either as far as I could tell, besides friends of the current landlords. Will end up as flats like every other pub Admiral get their hands on, which really is a shame for this place.

ROB Camra left this review about The Stork Hotel

Very old pub, somewhat reminiscent of the Marble Arch and Peveril of the Peak in Manchester. Lots of green and brown tiling, both inside and out. As you enter from Price Street there's a drinking corridor with a couple of rooms off. There's a snug to the left and a further room that looks as if it's used aa a dining room to the rear. Lots of stained glass panels and windows. The sad thing is that it's very shabby, especially the outside which doesn't look inviting at all. Two ales on the bar from 3 handpumps and the most interesting was Sharps Cornish Coaster, I forget to write down the other it was so memorable. The staff were fairly clueless which makes me think they may not have been here very long, certainly the ale range wasn't as inventive as when visited by Ray. So we have a CAMRA National Inventory pub in need of some TLC and an overhaul of the beer range. It could be a great pub, but sadly it isn't at the moment, it's only OK.

Top notch 19th Century Birkenhead pub with an exterior that has a glazed brick and tiled frontage, with the inside consisting of a fine rounded bar made of decorative wood and Edwardian tiles. There is also an original fireplace with a mahogany surround plus an L shaped corridor with an attractive mosaic floor. On my Tuesday visit the pub seemed to be doing a fair trade with 4 cask beers to go at and a friendly barmaid behind the bar.
Definitely worth seeking out.

This National Inventory pub is well worth a visit. This mid-19th century pub was refurbished in 1903. The public bar occupies the angle and is surrounded by a L shaped corridor. The pub hosts Edwardian tilework, fine woodwork and mosaic floor, a dado of turquoise tiles, many with Art Nouveau patterns in orange, yellow and light blue. The tiles are by George Swift Ltd of the Swan tile works, Liverpool. A curved screen forms the back bar fitting. Another feature is an Edwardian tiled, cast iron and wood surround fireplace. Etched, stained and leaded glazed panels also feature.
We found this a very friendly pub serving excellent beer. I went for Bartrams Suffolk n Strong and Star Portobello London W10.

Good old style pub. Has real ales for Camra types to salivate over.
