Steve C left this review about Windmill Hotel

The Windmill Hotel is Samuel Smiths pub with an entrance centre left that leads to a hallway where access can be gained to the thin bar to the right that runs along the length of the pub. There are four rooms that come off this hallway, two seating areas to the left and two at the rear of the pub. I think this pub has been refurbished at some point as the character is now that of a hotel rather than a hostel. In the room at the rear furthest from the entrance is a dartboard.
The aforementioned bar supports the usual SS keg, but unfortunately there is no OBB on cask. My half of Alpine lager was decidedly iffy, like it had been in the pipes for a couple of days. No children, no television, no music, cash only and no technology allowed, as per this pub company’s other pubs. The service was polite, but I’ll not be returning here anytime soon.

A massive Sam Smiths roadhouse on a very busy road junction. Sadly it's full of faded grandeur and desperately needs a refurb as it's very shabby. Lots of old faded prints around the walls. Pretty busy on my Friday, late afternoon visit. No real ale and a pint of Dark Mild was as usual ridiculously cheap at £1.34. I think this one's worth spending a few quid on Humphrey.

Basically a 2 roomed Sam Smiths pub. The larger room is traditional in style but is sadly a bit shabby looking due to the minging wallpaper. A few jolly pensioners in today.

Sam Smiths pub situated on a busy junction and one of many pubs around this area. There must have been 30 customers in on my Wednesday afternoon visit, mainly old timers taking advantage of the cheap beer.Although I was quite fond of the large wooded bar, thought in general the pub could do with a good spruce up.
