As Just a Quick Pint mentions, there's no signage up on this Spoons, it might have been helpful when we were trying to get our bearings. The place was mobbed on our afternoon visit. The service was fast and the price for a pint was dearer than other Spoons. The Moorhouses Blond Witch was excellent. Soon found our way thanks to our Pubs Galore map.

This is probably the worst of the Manchester JDWs for clientele. The door is always surrounded by nicotine bouncers and the whole of the front area within the pub is filled with the type of punter who normally congregate in a pub close to a bus station. However once you have fought your way through the unwashed and pretty smelly throng the middle and rear area of the pub is much more civilised. There was a good selection of guest beers on the bar and the two I had were in very good nick, plus the service was very efficient. It's never going to be one of my favourite pubs, but, being fair, this was quite a reasonable visit.

Called in a couple of times for an excellent breakfast, but when we went in for beer they would not accept the CAMRA voucher on half pints as the beer was different prices. When I checked, I found that the available beers all seemed to be at different prices. No problem with beer quality, and the service, table cleaning and state of the loos better than most JDW's.

Probably the roughest of Manchester’s JDW’s and can get very busy despite its size. If United are playing at home then its usually heaving and quite uncomfortable from around 10am, with police making regular patrols around the pub on my last visit. From what I can recall there was no ‘Manchester & County’ livery with just the Wetherspoons name still showing on the front of the pub.

A good all round JDWs. I have not been to all of Manchesters 'Spoons but daytime I find them reasonable places to visit. Good wheelchair access and spacious bar areas. Evenings can be very different.

Due to heavy rail difficult to enter as smookers ocupied the door ways. Once in a good range of beers served by quick and efficent staff. Tables kept clean with staff on constant patrol to remove all used items. Well worth a visit if in the area.
