This pub used to have a reputation for good food and has won awards for ‘best pub’. On my visit in April 07 I was very disappointed. The food really was nothing special, but worst was the really high level of smoke in the restaurant area. The staff were friendly enough but not at all interested in turning on the extractor fans, despite a number of requests. This situation will of course change on 1st July when smoking is banned and maybe they’ll also improve the food!
