Corner pub - again a Heritage pub and in the GBG2023, but worlds apart from the Lamb Hotel up the road.

Although they both sell holts.

Friendly locals - mainly men - a game of crib doubles going on in the Vault Bar. A couple of other punters in a room at the end of a long corridor.

The locals were moaning (good naturedly) about the quality of the Holts Bitter - which they seemed to think was lacking something. Wasnt a million miles from what I had earlier.

Proper old school boozer.

The Stanley Arms has a small “Vault Bar” to the right of the entrance at the front of the pub. Three hand pumps were drawing Holts Bitter (x2) and Mild and the usual Holts keg range is available. A Manchester dartboard was up on the wall, the dart team was playing away so it was quiet. The two small televisions were showing muted snooker and there was some 90s dance music playing in the background. A hatch serves the corridor and at the rear are two rooms, both with a dartboard and television. A DJ is advertised for Friday and Saturday nights. Very friendly service.

A good little corner local. Multi-roomed with the bar in the small room to your right as you enter. An old replica c18th century rifle/firearm is above the bar. 3 handpumps with just Holts Bitter and Mild on. Had a mulleted man with a mallet in which was a bit worrying.

Small, but multi roomed pub with the usual Holts's smart green tiling on the inside walls. There's a tap room to the right as you enter complete with a dartboard and a small lounge to the left. Straight ahead is a tiled drinking corridor leading to a further small room with a pool table. The tap room was full with the post work crowd on my Friday early evening visit, so lots of banter going on. I had a half of Holts Bitter at £1.10 served by the friendly barmaid and listened in for a while. This is a proper traditional workingmans local and long may it continue to be so.

The Stanley Arms is a small corner pub situated on the busy liverpool road.
Once inside we went into a small basic bar, there may have been a lounge to the rear but we did'nt look, the bar had normal tables and chairs with a lino floor.
The pub is a Joseph Holt tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,we had a drink of the excellent Holts Bitter which went down a treat, the other beer was Holts Mild.
I really like these sorts of pubs, this was the reason me and the wife made quite a few visits to Eccles.
