Called back here this bank holiday what as happened to this pub Marstons have got rid of the old Managers Janet and Peter for a bit of a young kid it was full of rubbish no one in control of it.
Told they have got to have door men on now because of the trouble the food was bad people complaining kids running all over youths swearing at the top of there voice's told there's trouble all the time since Peter and Janet left at the start of April. YES MARSTONS YOU HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB ON THIS PUB.

Was told by a member of staff that two area managers got rid of them a Mike Ward and a Dan Chinn plus an ops director called Ray Weller

I called in this pub first about five years ago the couple had just taken over they had there work cut out it was full of people you would no want to drink with.
What a improvement it just gets better every time i go they have time to talk to every one always say hello and good bye that helps a lot.
THE BEER IS SPOT ON AND THE FOOD IS GOOD.
THEONLY BAD POINT IS THE MAN UNITED FANS BUT YOU CAN NOT HAVE EVERY THING

Steve C left this review about The Sparking Clog

The Sparking Clog is a large reasonably priced food led pub that was pretty busy during my visit on Sunday afternoon. I found all of the staff to be very friendly and the Guinness was spot on and again very reasonably priced. I spotted four hand pumps on the bar in amongst the standard draught products and these were drawing Marston’s Wicked Witch, Hobgoblin, Ringwood’s Huffkin and Jennings Bitter. The pub has Sky Sports and the Arsenal game was being shown muted on the two plasma screens as some background music was playing lightly. A quick nod to the bar staff from one of the locals soon had the commentary turned on and the music turned off. Most of the signs on the walls were plugging the food, but I did spot one advertising a weekly poker night that starts at 19:30 every Monday.

There is plenty of parking and out the back there is a good sized paved and grassed area with some seating that is covered by two jumbrellas and at the front there is a covered smoking area that is enclosed by hedges and some trellising. There is no step up into the pub and there is a disabled toilet.

For a cheap food pub I thought that this place was good and I will return next year when I am visiting relatives again.
