Seemingly authentic Irish Bar, just off Deansgate. I'd read about it. Look carefully on Bridge Street and there are little white signs in an Irish Font, pointing the way.

I say seemingly - the bar mats and tables have statements saying "Mulligans - since 1897" but one of my twitter followers saw my checkin and posted a picture from 1990 when it was the Wagon and Horses.

Still, inside it felt authentic. Lines of Guinness part poured on the bar, waiting for the settle and final part of the build. A wide selection of Irish Whisky. Fiddle-de-dee music piper in. A ceiling full of Irish county flags.

Full - even 10 mins after opening. £6.70 for a Guinness defying the cost of living crisis.

Mulligans is a long and thin Irish pub with raised seating in the front window and a bar counter along the left wall that faces seating up the right. At the rear are three glass panelled snug booths each with a door to shut out the noisy pub. Premium keg was available from the bar. I wouldn’t be surprised if fiddling was a regular occurrence in here. OK for a few jars after work but wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

Top o' the mornin' skiddely aye doh pub with lots of Irish flags from the various counties. Other assorted Irish stuff dotted around. It also came with authentic Irish blokes in the corner talking all things Louis van Gaal.

This pub was an Irish bar long before they became popular and it still is despite the decline of many of the upstarts. It’s a long thin room with seating areas to front and rear. There are several large screen TVs which were showing American racing when we went in with an audience of none, the sound was muted though. It’s an OK pint of Guinness but the red wine is total crap, don’t buy it! The other half says it's the worst glass of wine she's been served in a pub for about 2 years (that's a lot of glasses of wine as well). It’s a bit rough and ready as are some of the clientele and it's well past it's sell by date. I don't think we'll be bothering again.
