Traditional JW Lees pub, with very nice external green tiling. I didnt explore much inside, but a long bar and traditional pub setup.

JW Lees bitter at £4.65. Fine condition. Would take a lot for me to choose over the Castle opposite - maybe the chance of a nice sit down would swing it.

Gullivers is a JW Lees pub with a bar on the left wall that faces booth seating up the right. In the left rear is another seating area with log burner in a fireplace. On the rear wall is a jukebox that was supplying some background music. Standard keg was available and the five hand pumps were drawing Helmsman, Bitter, Plum Pudding and MPA, with the fifth being unused. I’ve been in here a couple of times now, but I’m not a massive fan so I’m not planning a third visit.

Visited last night. Busy JW Lees pub. As you enter from Oldham Street the bar is on the left hand wall. Can't remember how many hand pulls there were but only JW Lees beers were available - I recall seeing MPA and Bitter along with Helmsman. I went for the Helmsman which was pretty unpleasant but just drinkable. It had that JW Lees chemical taste that so many of their beers have. I managed to finish my half but my drinking buddy left his pint and we moved on quickly. Not a pub I can see myself returning to in a hurry.

An unscheduled stop due to lack of city navigational skills and more so the persistent rain. A nice enough looking ,green tiled J.W.Lees corner pub. It is apparently a well known music venue, and though nothing live was happening whilst I was there, the majority of the male customers were long haired and leather clad, with a bit of Led Zep and Guns And Roses action on the juke box. Four pumps but only J.W.Lees MPA was on, this was an average beer. The pub was OK but nothing special, it kept me dry on the outside for a while, as it turned out my hotel was only a couple of streets away.

A nice enough corner pub with 2 separate rooms, one the bar area, the other a sort of lounge. An upstairs part is available but a notice says that there is no bar upstairs. 4 handpumps serving JW Lees beers. Barmaid was a Sonic Youth fan. Which was nice.

Very neat pub with a music venue upstairs. Downstairs is one room, but with a dog leg in the middle effectively making it into 2 areas. There's a couple of booths as you enter and the rest is mainly standard dining tables and chairs. The owner of this pub also owns The Castle across the road and Parlour in Chorlton. Three handpumps on the bar serving Lees Bitter, MPA & The Governor. The MPA was a decent pint. I sat down at the bar on a stool and got chatting to the barmaid about music. I suspect she was just a couple of years younger than me as we had seen quite a few of the same bands. It's a pleasant pub now, but I suspect it will get rammed when there's a gig on upstairs as there is several times a week.
