Two roomed community pub - where I made a journey, as it I had read about it in an excellent blog about disappearing pub men. The blog also mentioned a couple of famous former patrons. You could guess at Mark E Smith but I doubt Nico ever thought she would end her days drinking in such a place.

Two roomed, with a central bar. Getting staff off their mobile phones to serve you to tricky unless you want to shout. And I am not sure you want to bring attention to yourself.

One room - the Lounge - an older clientele. The vault on the opposite side of the bar has a pool table and "the lads".

Keenly priced Holts Bitter in reasonable condition.

The chip shop over the road (Chips @ Number 8) has a large mural of the Fall front man.

The Foresters is a very large two roomed Holts pub that was quiet during a recent Saturday evening visit. The left-hand Vault Bar, popular with the younger locals, houses a pool table and dartboard. I spent an hour or so in the right-hand lounge bar where there was some background music playing whilst the three muted TVs simultaneously aired The Chase, The Voice and Casualty.
The bar supports a range of Holts Lagers and three cask Holts ales. I was pleasantly surprised that my round of four pints of lager and a glass of wine came to £15. I didn’t see any advertisements for food, but a couple of locals brought in some food from the local chippy.
Out the back is some covered patio furniture that was being used by smokers. This pub has normal opening hours with an extension until midnight on Fridays and 23:30 on Saturdays. I don’t plan to rush back to this pub when next in the area, but I did find the locals to be very friendly.

A fairly standard though pleasant enough Holts pub. Two roomed with the lounge to you're right and the 'vault' to the left. The lounge is clean and friendly and is rectangular. 2 handpumps on the bar in the lounge dispensed Holts Bitter and Mild.
