Just off the main drag at the end of church lane is the 17th century grade II listed Church Inn, with what looks to me like a very unsympathetic extension on the side. Through the entrance the bar runs along the rear wall and there are multiple rooms to the left and right. There was a quiz in progress when I visited on Tuesday earlier in the week. There are four hand pumps, two of which were unused leaving Brightside’s Odin Blonde and Greene King’s Old Speckled Hen as the cask ale choices. There is also a standard and premium keg selection. Whilst waiting for my change I noted a sign that asks people not to loiter at the bar, not ideal. The service was polite and the quiz light hearted. I didn’t see any televisions, but there is a jukebox, obviously turned off for the quiz. This is certainly one of the better pubs in Prestwich.

A pleasant multi-roomed pub. Very old style with low beams in some rooms. All the rooms are small and cosy. A beer garden is to the rear. 4 handpumps on the bar with a variety of guest ales on, today's being Everard's Tiger, Hawkshead Red and Brightside Odin. One room had pictures of some boxers(not the dogs).
