The Waterside is a canal side bar and restaurant with a large paved and gravelled beer garden out the front that is full of picnic tables that overlook the water. The background music in the pub is also piped into the garden. There is a front conservatory that was full with diners when I popped in on Wednesday evening last week. The rest of the pub was completely empty, apart from me and a handful of staff. The large right hand side of the pub is used for dining, but there is a bar area with a television in the far left. The bar counter support a standard and premium keg selection. I found the service to be very polite, but I wouldn’t visit here just for a beer again.

Bar & Restaurant accurately describes this place, there is a long restaurant running along the canalside with quite an upmarket finish and large glass windows.I didn't eat so can't comment on food quality. However through a side door there is a small bar ,and a room behind which is not set for diners and has a flatscreen, off during my Saturday night visit.
The real draw is the canalsise seating patio with many wooden bench seats, all numbered so in good weather you can also dine al fresco.
The patio is only seperated from the towpath by a low fence and was proving popular with drinkers in the sun. There is also a wooden Water Shack here, not being used.
Sadly no real ale, just a very standard keg selection so my visit was short and sweet.

When i visited this pub it was called the Bargee Inn,no doubt to its proximity to the Bridgewater Canal.
Once inside i went into a smart room that was carpeted and had one side set aside for diners, but as a drinker i was made just as welcome.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Robinsons bitter which was a decent drink, the other beer was Courage Directors.
This was a decent looking pub from the outside but a bit too food orientated for my liking.
