Don't be fooled by the prominent "cask ales" sign on the outside - there's no real ale here. To quote Alan Winfield, I had a half of John Smith smooth crap - and it was. There was no sign of any food on Friday lunchtime.

This is now the only pub in Edmonton Green, and it's not a good one. Being in a covered shopping mall it's very gloomy, and the dark painted ceiling and some walls don't help. On the plus side it is carpeted, and furnishings are mainly normal tables and chairs, plus small round stools. It just felt a bit tatty in there. Someone had left their bicycle by the pool table, and when someone put something on the jukebox all you could here was the base thump.

I do have some sympathy for those poor unfortunates who have this as their local who don't have the option to get on a train to somewhere better, which would be my solution. I didn't stay long.

Opens at 10.00AM to service the market workers and shoppers and then shuts when the market shuts.
It's OK as a bolt hole to hide in and try and forget that you are actually in Edmonton Green. But otherwise no point to go here.

Very unusual to see a pub called The Railway Tavern in the middle of a shopping centre but no doubt it has something to do with the Old Lower Edmonton (Low Level) Station.A small L shaped bar but no real ale.The staff and locals are very friendly.
