Alan Winfield left this review about Tommy Flynn's

Tommy Flynn's is a large corner pub that is at the end of a row of shops.
Once inside there is a very large single room which runs to the rear, there is a long bar running down the right side, the room is bare boarded, there is a small raised area opposite the bar,the seating is mainly normal tables and chairs, the TVs were either showing horse racing of football,Leeds v some other team, there was a pool table to the rear.
There were three unclipped pumps on the bar,so i had a drink of John Smiths Extra Cold Crap, which lived up to its name, extra cold and extra crap.
The pub was very busy on my Saturday dinner visit and there were menues on the tables.
I was happy enough having a drink in this pub, just a shame there was not a real ale on the bar.

Large open plan pub with a bit of a spoons vibe. Standard draught selection ( real ale taps not the in use during my visit) and food served.

This pub seems to periodically open and close. I popped in last autumn during an open phase and it really isn't worth the effort. At prime time only two other drinkers were in evidence except that they were chatting not drinking; the barman gave the impression that my presence was an inconvenience.

I finished my half, left and really can't see this pub surviving. However as Steve C points out, it's par for the area so perhaps it might just soldier on.

Granted this place wasn't very busy when I visited so I didn't get to see any of the supposed scum that drink in here, but I didn't think that it was that bad. The barman/governor seemed ok, although he didn't look like the sort of bloke you'd ask to top up your pint. Not unsurprisingly for an Irish pub there is only a selection of standard draught available, but my Guinness was good.

Horse racing was on one plasma in the bar area and an interesting programme about beavers was on the other. I also spotted a rolled up plasma screen, dartboard and a pool table in the dingy area at the rear of the pub.

This isn't the best pub, but it is on par for the area.
