E TA left this review about The Red Lion

A large Georgian inn that does B&B at the least luxurious end of the spectrum. There is a tight carpark at the side but not much in the way of garden as most of the original grounds have now been developed. The bar is quite dingy, and the décor is dated, and Komakino has described the layout below. The staff are helpful, and it serves well as a village local. Only two ales on – Trelawny and Tribute, which were badly kept. It serves a function but it could be so much better.

Now the only pub in the village, The Red Lion is another cosy village pub offering decent pub grub in comforting surrounds. Entering from the front, the long bar faces with red upholstered seating of the bench, chair and stool variety all available (the floor is also carpeted in a similar red, which is all rather 70s). The room widens slightly to the right where an open hearth houses a modern fire stove. To the left, the room drops down a step and hooks backs to the right which is primarily designated for dining. The ale selection was a bit of a let-down though, with GK IPA, St Austell Tribute and St Austell Trelawny.
