A fine external curved frontage in the heart of upmarket Lauriston Village,a hipster enclave with it's independent green grocers and fishmongers. The interior is open plan with a large pizza oven to the back left,a small bar with no handpumps but 10 keg taps opposite which are some high tables, while further along in green velour are some seating booths,a long rear bench seat and as small ranking of heavy wood square tables.Decent background music was a positive.
Food is popular here both eat in and takeaway ,mainly pizze but also pasta dishes and my Linguine with meat balls was very decent if £13.
The keg selection featured a lot of London micros and my Fourpure Luppollo was acceptable at £5.60.There is a weekly quiz, and this pub is well suited to the affluent young professionals who congregate in the Village.Sadly no real ale but it's not a bad place.

Corner pub with one room and the bar to the left. No real ale - just keg rubbish.

Formerly the Alexandra, this pub is located on a roundabout at the junction of Lauriston Road and Victoria Park Road, a short walk from Victoria Park. The immediate vicinity is increasingly gentrified with dinky little shops.

The interior is quite spacious and a bit spartan; the barmaid was very friendly. This isn't a real ale hotbed but I think some taps were spotted. The clients seem to be drawn from both traditional locals and hipster incomers.

This isn't a bad pub and I'd come here again, but urinals aside, I prefer the Hemingway down the road.
