This is a large pub with a weatherboard exterior painted in white and powder blue. It is a shame the stone chimney is painted powder blue. Inside it attempts to look old, with beams etc. Well laid out and clean. We would visit again.

Steve of N21 left this review about The Plough

The Plough is another large McMullens food orientated pub on the corner of Sewardstone Road and Mott Street. It was built in the early 80’s when McMullens closed down a much smaller nearby pub of the same name and turned it into a residential house. The white and blue weather boarded exterior may fool the casual observer into thinking that this place is a harvester, but it is far better than that. Internally it is large and in several sections, and although it can get busy at weekends with families who come for the carvery, you can usually find a quiet place for a pint.
The beers are the usual McMullens cask ales and have always been well kept in my experience.
There is no real garden, but substantial out door bench seating to the front side and back, and the patio area to the back of the pub on the Mott Street side is actually a good place for a relaxing outside pint away from the main Sewardstone road.
