Blackthorn _ left this review about The Plough

A traditional pub in the middle of the High Street, it consists of two parallel rooms running back from the road with a central bar counter serving both. It appears to be quite a local’s pub and there was a good crowd in on a recent Tuesday evening visit. Food does not appear to be offered, or at least not when I was there, but the landlady helpfully suggested some other nearby options.

The right hand bar is perhaps more of a lounge, although not designated as such. Décor is fairly unremarkable with carpet on most of the floor and some tiling around the bar. Paintwork was usual shade of pub brown with a feature wall of flock wallpaper at the far end. A plasma was also mounted here showing a sports channel, and there was another smaller screen nearer the bar. The left hand bar looked to be broadly similar, although here a pool table was the dominant feature.

The solitary beer on tap appeared to be Bombardier Burning Gold. A second pump next to it had run out, but seemed to be offering the same thing as far as I could make out from the reversed clip. The solitary cider was Strongbow, unfortunately. Overall I’m sure this is a solid enough boozer for the local community, but I can see little reason to make a special effort to visit.
