Tris C left this review about Portobello House

This was once a pub called the Earl Percy but is now the Portobello House, situated in North Kensington W10, a few hundred yards north of the decidely more gentrified Notting Hill, W11.
As a result, this venue is a little incongruous in an area which is still a bit Rillington Place around the edges, especially at night.
Inside it's really a cocktail bar/restaurant with boutique hotel above, where one room is called the Percy Room - I thought this was a euphemism for the lav. The floor may be bare boarded, but thereafter there doesn't seem to be anything to identify it as a former pub. There are chandeliers and pink floral-print wallpaper with cut flowers and bamboo in planters. Furniture comprises tall, small square tables with tall stools clad with claret-coloured vinyl, though some furniture is lower and marginally more conventional. Several ugly aircon units dangle from the ceiling and there are mirrors to the rear walls; music was muted. What few clients who were in during our lunchtime visit were an older bunch and a bit down at heel - clearly not the customer base this venue aims to attract.
Ale? None. Not even craft. Just premium lagers, Guinness and Aspall's, all distributed from chrome founts; my half of Stella came in at £2.45 a half.
This isn't a homely place at all - I think 'non-pub' is a good description and the Eagle just up the road is a far better bet. I won't be returning.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Portobello House

Nondescript bistro with a semi-refurbished 'U'-shaped bar and hotel accommodation above. Small patio seating area behind bamboo screen at the front. No real ale, having stopped selling Spitfire "about four weeks ago". Dull range of keg lagers (e.g. 1664, £2.40, half) plus Guinness.
