Totally agree with all the comments below. Here at a bit after 7.30pm on a Thursday evening and the venue was full with diners. So essentially yes a restaurant with just some stools around a a U shaped bar in the back corner (that makes the place sound big - the place is pretty small so the bar takes up a good part of the venue). Tribute the solitary beer on hand pump still and four taps dispensing Guinness, Orchard Pig Reveller and two lagers. Not really one to head to for a beer that’s for sure if that’s all you are looking for. Rating is as a pub - no view on this place as a dining establishment.

The pub’s – if you can call it that – pictures are best appreciated on its website; bare brick and plank lined walls abound. Tables have partially tiled tops and are laid with cutlery and glasses, for this is a restaurant, where you can stand at the bar, should you so wish.
The place is very child friendly, to the point where a parent finally got the message and removed her screaming baby. The emphasis here is very much on food, at 18 units my octopus (see photo) was a bit tough and cold, served on a cold plate, unwashed capers making it too salty; a tiramisu was good. Pizzas were served with raw, rather than melted cheese, which is a bit odd.
There was a solitary ale on pump – Tribute – which was acceptable.
This place isn’t too bad if you like children and restaurants.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bird in Hand

Attractive corner pub, rebuilt in 1926 (as proudly proclaimed above what is now the main door), with a little vegetation in hanging baskets, etc. The square main room is divided into two distinct parts: the 'L'-shaped bar counter with a little general seating and two rows of formal dining tables. Signs indicate a private dining room upstairs, and there are upmarket wooden booth-type patio seating areas on each side of the entrance. Just four keg taps - offering Guinness, Estrella, Revisionist Craft Lager and Orchard Pig Reveller cider - plus a solitary handpump with Dark Star Hophead (£4.90) on tap. Overall, less interesting than it looks unfortunately.

I wandered into here on Friday afternoon last week and found a venue busy with diners tucking into pizzas. The pizza isn’t cheap either being priced between £12.50 and £13.50. The bar area to the left is U shaped and the larger right half of the pub is full of seating. Four standard draught products were available, but most were drinking wine.
This place is now more Italian restaurant than pub and although there were a couple of bar stools I wouldn’t go here just for a drink.
This is a pub review site so my low rating reflects this. If this was a restaurant review site I would have stayed for food and probably given a much higher rating.
