A relatively inoffensive sort of place, lurking in a row of shops and presumably converted from one at some point. There is one long room with the bar down one side, decorated in a sort of 'modern traditional' style of greys and greens with the occasional splash of artwork. A balustrated bit at the back houses a big screen, with darts behind, and there are several other sports TVs around, thankfully with the sound off. A few pavement tables stand at the front. Still a Greene King house, with ales restricted to IPA and Abbot, although the former was off and the latter might as well have been as it was barely drinkable. A few boxed ciders were present also. Fills a hole in an underpubbed area but not much else to recommend.

Rex Rattus left this review about The Old Garage

This is a Greene King house, so don’t expect an inspiring ale choice here. They had on their IPA and the less usually seen Abbot Reserve, one of the better ales in the GK stable, and so it should be at 6.4% ABV and £3.30 a pint. They were still doing food mid-afternoon on a Tuesday – the standard “2 meals for £9” was available, as was the typical GK menu, with main meals around the £7 mark. I spotted a sign advertising free wi-fi.
Tall stools/tables, banquettes and normal tables and chairs make up the furnishings, so fairly standard issue here then. It looks as if they’ve tried to give it the hotel lounge look, but it doesn’t really work, or at least it didn’t when I was in, as there was a family group, including some boisterous children, occupying the raised area at the back, and a group of half a dozen or so blokes at one of the tall round tables having a jolly time. Everything else was typical of the GK brand. This is a pretty ordinary GK pub, with nothing to induce me to pay a return visit.

The Old Garage is a newish looking Greene King bar serving IPA, Old Speckled Hen and a plethora of lagers. The décor is fairly minimalist with bare brick walls and a low ceiling. There are plenty of TV's but it was surprisingly not busy just as a Premiership game was about to start. Next door to a JD Wetherspoons so the £2.70 a pint for OSH might be a factor in this. Pleasant enough place for the Sunday papers.
