Having walked past this place on numerous occasions, in a moment of abandon I decided to enter. There's no real ale, but a board to the right of the counter advertised the "craft" beers on tap, and included among them was Longhammer IPA, which I had only previous had in bottles. A half of it set me back £3, but it is a 6%+ beer, and the barmaid went to some effort to get a full half in the glass. Paulaner was another of the offerings. Food seems to be mainly pizze, most at £11.50 a pop, but with the "This little piggy" (fresh fig, goat's cheese, chicken, rosemary with a balsamic glaze) at £12.50.

This is a modern bar, and nothing like my idea of a pub. There are backless benches in the front area, with cheap tables and small round stools. There's a bit of banquette seating at the back, plus the inevitable tall tables/tall stools. The walls are varied in their appearance - an exposed brick wall at the back had copper piping all over it, as did the ceiling at the back. Another wall was covering in reclaimed timber, and a wall at the front had loads of desk drawers affixed to it. All a bit Antic. Quirky or ridiculous? - take your pick. It's not really what I'm looking for in a pub, but I guess that I'm not the demographic that they're aiming at.

Smart modern and trendy.Cocktails selling well.About 6 keg beers but you have to consult the menu to find what they are.Good bottled beers but expensive.Tried Mallinson-nelson sauvin £5.80 very good beer and made a boo boo by pouring half my bottle into my sons glass of wheat beer by mistake so ended up with a nelson sauvin wheat beer.It really works as well.Bit of a beer cocktail really.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Lost & Co

Part cocktail bar / part craft beer pub, with a refurbished gastro-pub interior that has been one opened out at some stage. Mixed seating, with one wall decorated but otherwise quite plain. Large folding front windows, open on a warm summer evening. Background music. Nine anonymous taps on the bar back, so you need to consult the handwritten list (which indicated that only four of these were actually on). Also has two handpumps on the counter, dispensing 'Madog's Ale' (from Purple Moose, £4.00) and something unstated from the Late Knight Brewery.

Steve C left this review about Bar Room Bar

This is a trendy bar on the high street and I think that it pulls it off quite well. It has a stone baked pizza facility, as does the Bar Room Bar in Hampstead so I'd imagine this is part of a chain.

The manager was friendly enough and along with Carlsberg there is plenty of premium lager to choose from. It is a little dark, but the funky music was at a good level and I also spotted a plasma screen.

This is not really my scene but I can see the attraction, especially with the 2 for 1 cocktails from 5 until 7 every evening.
