The Hare & Hounds - probably the best pub in Sheen. (Unless u know different - please tell..)! Right on the main South Circular artery thru' SW London. Worth a stop if you're in the neighbourhood. My Dad's favourite pub! :o)

Good looking traditional pub that I would be happy relaxing in.Shame about the beer choice.Three Youngs beers,Doombar and Bombardier. The Bombardier was in good condition but not a beer I would want to drink.Nice pub that with a couple of decent guest beers would be worth a return.

This is a CAMRA Regional Inventory pub, signifying that the interior is of particular merit and retaining at least some original features. This one has the original public bar on the left, although it is connected to the main bar area via a large opening in the dividing screening. Most of the walls have fielded panelling on them, which Young’s have thoughtfully, and perhaps unusually, resisted the temptation to paint gastro grey or some other unsuitable pastel shade. Other features of note are the mullioned latticed windows and the parquet flooring in the main bar. The bit of the wall above the wood panelling is jam-packed with various prints – there’s nothing minimalist about this place.

Continuing past the main bar through a large archway takes you into a room with flagstone flooring, a few sofas, a couple of tall tables/tall stools, some banquette seating by the window, and some standard tables and chairs provides the full range of seating options. This room also contains a sideboard with various board games and the like on it. Behind this room is yet another room, this one having the look of a library about it, brought about largely by the book design wallpaper in a couple of the alcoves. This room contains the food servery with an attractive carved wood frontage, although I don’t know whether it is still in use – it wasn’t in use when I visited on Monday afternoon. There's a garden at the back This is obviously a fairly large pub, but without the drinking barn appearance of a ‘spoons.

The food seemed to be reasonably priced, with sandwiches from £3.95 (for cheese and chutney) up to £7.95 (for the chicken and bacon club). The pub grub lunch menu seemed reasonable as well – e.g. bangers and mash at £5.95. Being a Young’s pub the beer’s unlikely to be very exciting, with Young’s Bitter, Special, London Gold and Well’s Bombardier on. Nonetheless, I liked this largely unspoilt pub and would be happy to return for another pint sometime.

This is a very big Youngs pub with a very large garden out the back. Unsurprisingly, Ordinary, Special and Bombardier were available alongside standard and premium lagers. The manager (?) seemed OK and aside from the vast saloon bar that is set out with plenty of tables there is a separate public bar where the music cannot be heard and the dartboard looks well used.

I didn't think this place was anything special and next time I'm in the area I'll probably drink elsewhere.

The Hare and Hounds is a large pub that is on a very busy road.
Once inside there were two rooms that i noticed and i went the lounge which was a very smart comfortable room, this pub is a Youngs tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Youngs bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Youngs Special.
I thought this was quite a nice pub with decent beer on the bar.
