There's still no real ale on in here, and no sign of any food when I visited on Saturday lunchtime. Although, as far as I could tell, everybody in here was drinking out of a glass, it looked as if most were drinking canned Fosters, judging by the number of cans on tables. Also, I saw pint cans of Carling advertised for £2.50 - maybe the Fosters was even cheaper. I had a half of Guinness for £2.

This is a pub that I've walked past many times, and at last I summoned up the enthusiasm to go inside. I guess if you're in Peckham one should visit the famous Nag's Head. Oddly enough, I didn't spot any Delboy memorabilia around the place. There were a couple of TVs on - one showing the horse racing and another a live footy match. There was also some music playing, and a good natured argument developed as to whether the music should continue, or the TV showing the football should have the sound turned on.

It's a very basic pub inside, being bare-boarded with a couple of tall tables/tall stools in the centre of the room, one or two normal tables and chairs, and red upholstered banquettes round the sides. When I was in many of the early door punters were employing industrial language, so not really child friendly by the look of it. Probably a once in a lifetime visit for me.

The Nags Head is a decent sized pub that is situated just off rye lane,it is listed in the South East London pub guide 1994 as being on hookey street, but could not a find street name to confirm this.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room with the bar facing, the bar almost ran the width of the pub,the floor was bare boarded, with the seating a mix of bench type, tall tables and chairs and normal tables and chairs, there was a darts board to the far right, there were three TVs showing three different programmes, the football review one being the only one with sound.

There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Websters Green Label which was a lot better than the other option of John Smiths smooth crap.
The pub was fairly busy on my early dinnertime visit with older male drinkers.
This was the cheapest pub of the day my Websters Green Label cost £1.50 for a half.
I was happy enough drinking in this pub.

Update:Well i fell for that one Hook,Line and Sinker,i always thought Camra guides did things properly, but i should have realised that it was a joke, and i did not see Nelson Mandella House while on my pub crawl.

Can't remember going to Peckham before, so this all new to me. Called into the Nags Head and liked. It is a pub for the regulars, no airs or graces. The Guinness was poured to psrfection. No real ale but at least I had a second choice.
