Plans to build flats and commercial space on the site of the former Clipper Pub have been given the go ahead.

Interior as described below with the addition of a pool table and a dartboard. 3 real ales and food served. Live music advertised.

This looks like an inter-war pub to me. Inside there is a large bar to the right with a few tables at the end set for diners, the rest of the furnishings being normal tables and chairs. To the left there is another bar reached through an archway, called the “Press Deck”, which was possibly a public bar or snug at some stage. The walls are all panelled in dark wood, which looks as if it could be the original fitting that came with the pub. It’s carpeted throughout, which gives it a warm feel. I saw the regulation one armed bandit, but there was no pool table, and I didn’t spot a dartboard. I quite liked the feel of the place, as it seemed like a traditional pub. The only negative points for me were the Heart Radio being played through the speakers (although I acknowledge that others may like listening to this sort of stuff in a pub) and the fact that the only real ale on was London Pride, at what I thought was a slightly over the top price of £3.30 a pint.
