Not far from Temple Meads, and worth the stroll to see what's on offer from the 8 handpumps and 10 keg beer selection. The interior is quite small, minimalist with a wooden floor and canteen type furniture, yet modern and inviting. The array of keg tap in the bar back is similar to the arrangement in many of the London craft beer outlets, and the amount of bottled beer in the fridges was impressive and listed on a board by the bar.Food is also served ,yet only one table was set for dining and most folk were just drinking on my crawl visit.A weekly pub quiz is advertised. There is a small courtyard out the back, partly covered.
The real ale choice on my visit was Wiper & True Milk Shake,BBF Seven,Sunny Republic Shark Head,Wild Beer Fresh,Moor Revival ,XT6 and Otley Amarillo (£3.40,not that crisp) while a handpump was devoted to a real cider.Given the ale range and the commitment to stocking interesting beers in all their forms ,this GBG listed pub is well worth including on any ale tour of the city.

This Bristol Beer Factory pub is hidden away to the rear of Temple Meads in a redeveloped area full of flats and apartments. The sister pub to The Grain Barge, beers were Acer, Sunrise and No 7, plus Hop Harvest Green Hopped Ale. Chatting to the friendly landlord, he told me of future plans for the pub including adding more handpulls and introducing a couple of craft keg beers. Good luck with this.
The pub itself is a long narrow room with the bar taking up about a third of the back wall. Boarded floor and conventional chairs and tables in 2s and 4s. The fireplace at the far end was in use providing warmth and cheer on a bright but chilly day. White walls with dark green wainscotting below.
A large TV on the end wall opposite the fire was playing some music channel which distracted a bit but it wasn't overly loud. A selection of board games plus bagatelle, shut the box and dominoes were on a shelf, and the pub runs a book and DVD swap scheme. Food is served but I didn't see a menu.
I liked it in here, well worth seeking out in the hinterland of the station. The pub has a loyalty card scheme where you buy eight pints and get the ninth free.

This was a Wadsworths Pub for many years and also served a great pint of Bass. Barton Road has now been partly paved over for the new houses in the area. In addition, the "Seymours" Social Club that used to stand at the rear of the Pub has also been demolished for what looks like more flats.
