Typical London corner pub, lots of bare boards & worn wood tables, high ceiling, big windows and lots of light. A central old fashioned wood bar. Nice place. Full range of Fullers ales.

Good quality real ale, though I nwouldn't rcommend the Seafarers as a 'Northener'

A nice old traditional street corner pub, now one space on the ground floor with a small fairly ornate island bar. Wooden boarded floors, some exposed brickwork, covered in a variety of mirrors, stained glass screens. Other decor is a mix of old photographs, portraits etc, seating is pretty traditional plus some stools at drinking shelves at the front window. A TV over the corner entrance was showing some rugby highlights show. A friendly welcome and I liked the feel of the place.
Clientele at lunch was a mix of suits and locals, but its probably far enough from The City to avoid its worst aspects.
Further seating upstairs was not visited by myself.
Good quality Fullers Ales, I had the Chiswick, but there were Pride, ESB, Discovery and Porter on too.
Bunhill Fields Cemetery opposite is worth a wander around too.

Decided to try this place out as I was in the area and very glad I did.
It's a very decent, albeit smallish corner pub which is a sight for sore eyes when you emerge from the path through the Burnhill Cemetery from City Road. Can get busy due to its small size but the surrounding roads are quiet enough for standing on the pavement to be pleasant enough.
Two areas either side of the central serving area, one of which has a unobtrusive flat screen tele.
Nice traditional decor with a collection of mirrors and period photos.
Full range of well kept Fullers ales and despite being fairly busy on my evening visit had no problem getting served.
So in conclusion , The Artillery Arms scores very well as a decent pub in the Old Street area.

This is a pub for fuller's ale fans as almost their full range was available during my visit. I wouldn't bother if ale isn't your cup of tea as the only other draught available was Guinness and Grolsch.

It is a very small and popular pub making it difficult to get to the bar, but thankfully the staff seemed to be on the ball with spotting people who are waiting, even if they are stuck behind a fat bearded man wearing sandals.

I liked it here and would return again.

Busy pub on the edge of the city, with drinkers (and smokers) spilling out onto the pavement.

Comes highly rated elsewhere, but I'm struggling to see it (I only stayed for one, mind you). Stocks a wide range of Fullers beers, but you can find better London Pride elsewhere.
