Quite agree with Tris C's comments. To make a difference to the awful Abingdon round the corner I have given this place a 2.

Oh dear. I suspect that things have taken a turn for the worse since the last review as this is in effect a tapas restaurant with just a few chrome lager founts.
Situated on the less than ideal Earls Court Road, this is barely a bar but only just as you can get a drink without eating. No ale here, so I opted for the Kronenbourg 1664 which tasted(?) as expected and set us back £2.70 a half. Décor and lighting is what you'd expect from a tapas/cocktail bar so I won't bother describing it, suffice to say if you like something that vaguely resembles a pub, let alone sells real ale, then you won't be stopping here. The place sells smoothies so may appeal to some.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Princess Victoria

Quite a squat building, with the pub's name boldly displayed on the facade, but rather smaller inside than you might expect. Compact, 'L'-shaped bar, refurbished again since I last visited in 2010, with an even more gastro-pub type interior but the same laid-back background jazz. Unfortunately, the real ale has vanished and there is now no draught bitter of any description - just Guinness and a few lagers on tap. There are, however, a few bottles in the fridge including Caledonian 80/- and several beers from Monteith's in New Zealand (e.g. Bohemian Pilsner and Summer Ale - both 5.0% and £4.90 for 330 ml, but thankfully two-for-the-price-of-one during the 5-7 pm Monday to Friday happy 'hour', and the barman helpfully offering one of each to try). Probably a safe bet for Mother's Day (if your mum likes to drink wine, and your pockets are deep enough) but otherwise not much cop... and rating reduced accordingly.

A single room corner pub dating from around 1830 just off Kensington High Street which has had a modern refurbishment to make it a calm, modern bar. Wooden fittings and flooring give it an airy feel, and the single tv screen is unobtrusive. There is a good food menu at reasonable (for London) prices. The bar staff are young and friendly. Some light jazz music in the background combines with a mix of comfy chairs, bar stools and low tables to give it an almost continental feel. Two ales on, both from Caledonian; I had Flying Scotsman which was OK but not at its best. Worth dropping in to for a quiet lunch or just to escape the bustle.

Suspect this might have been taken over since the review below. Smart bar restaurant serving usual draught selection plus 2 real ales from caledonian brewery(deuchar's & flying scotsman).Dog friendly and the large wall-mounted screens showing sports tv have been removed.
