Tris C left this review about Pomona's
My one visit was made in the summer of 1994 and this was a decent large, opened out pub with columns which at the time was called The Princess Royal.
Today it's more of a restaurant described as being influenced by southern California. In fact, the interior and furniture look more like the office canteen at Google.
It probably just about warrants inclusion on the site by virtue of selling cocktails, but that's about it.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Commander
A mosaic by the door reveals that this was formerly called the Princess Royal, but the Commander is now a 'Porterhouse & Oyster Bar (although no sign of the porter; or, indeed, any real ale). The interior has been thoroughly refurbished in a very upmarket style - mostly set aside for dining, but some comfortable booths at the front and an attractive bar area. A few metal tables out front, a side conservatory / patio and a larger terrace to the rear. Greeters at the door, and generally over-staffed. Bottled Bombardier (£4.80) was the pick of the available beers; and, whilst not my kind of place at all, it was quite a civilised place to while away a little time on a warm afternoon.
