Hall and Woodhouse pub with bare boarded and tiled flooring around the central bar. 3 sets of 4 taps( same 3 Badger ales & Rosie's pig cider on each).

Found this in a Camra Pub Guide - but there's not really too much to recommend it.

I normally get on OK with Badger Beer - but the tanglefoot was headless, weak tasting and pretty insipid.

Nothing to make this place worth revisting.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Prince Edward

Quite an attractive Hall & Woodhouse corner pub in a quiet area. Partly opened out inside, leaving a 'U'-shaped bar with a side dining area. Semi-traditional furniture and decor. Very hot inside on a sunny day so the pavement tables on both sides were very popular. Downstairs function room. Three banks of four handpumps, offering Badger, Tanglefoot, Hopping Hare (£3.85) and Old Rosie cider.

This is a rather anonymous pub situated in an unremarkable Bayswater backwater.

Prices were inexplicably high given the average calibre of the pub which does have a good mix of locals and tourists. This is not a pub to avoid, but it's certainly not worth seeking out and gets marked down due to its high prices.

A Hall and Woodhouse owned street-corner boozer situated in a nice area of Georgian housing. It’s a lot lager inside than the exterior (with it's looming graphic of King Edward VI) suggests, with two drinking areas, divided by a large island bar. The interior has a hodge-podge of furniture styles and there’s a comfy, if well-worn feel about the place. The floor is carpeted and there’s a TV for sports as well background music, which varies according to whoever’s on shift. A number of prints adorn the walls. There should be four Badger ales available but usually one of them is off, suggesting that the otherwise friendly staff perhaps lack a bit of gumption on the cellar front. Prices for the beer are rather high, given the location.

Overall, I’d say it’s worth dropping if nearby but it’s not necessarily one to go hugely out of the way for.

This is a Hall & Woodhouse pub, so the usual range of ales are available, but they did'nt have any Pickled Partridge on (which I had had at Ship and Shovell an hour or so earlier) although they did have Hopping Hare on. I had the Sussex Bitter, which was fine. A central island bar dominates the pub; there are a couple of sofas in the front bar; a few stools round the bar; and in the back bar there is also a set of six attractive high-backed chairs round a largish table that would not look out of place in a dining room.
The thumping Latin American music was not being played so loud as to prevent conversation. The flat screen TV, although showing Sky Sports, was muted. It is carpeted throughout, tastefully lit, and with numerous miscellaneous prints on the walls plus a gas-effect fire on the go gives it a very homely feel. I am trying to paint a picture of a warm and welcoming pub, which I think this is. I would certainly pay this pub a return visit if I was in the area.
