Situated in a mews which isn’t actually a mews, this was – believe it or not – rebuilt in the late 19th century, having existed since the mid-18th.
This is a Greene King house – what a surprise – with all the brand’s typical traits, in a pub which looks as though some elements are historic, with additions over the decades. For example, one fireplace looks original, another looks modern; a section of dark wood panelling appears to be of some age, the remainder looks like a later installation. There are several rooms and split levels, the low ceiling swathed with crimson Anaglypta with the dark lacquered floor giving a cosy feeling, diminished greatly by the multitude of TVs showing the football, which as usual, no one was watching. An obviously modern addition is the square section tubular steel gantry; lighting comes from chandelier-like things which look they date from the 1960s. Furniture is fairly conventional, with some studded banquettes; sauce bottles and menus litter tables. Customers were very young, one group vocally discussing its sex lives.
The typical ale line-up was on parade: GK IPA, Abbot, Old Golden Hen, with two pumps unused, so it was yet more Neck Oil, £3.30 a half.
This isn’t a great pub, which is pretty much the theme when it comes to Marylebone pubs, so a return is not on the cards.

Located on Portman Mews South ,this alone might indicate this as a mews pub but the immediate area doesn't .However this is more boozer than anything else ,so it just about qualifies and the interior is worth a squint, despite the GK signage.
It all low ceiling with an impessive long red leather bench seat running along a lot of the frontage with a nesting of rooms further along up a step or two.To the short side of the bar are a few high tables. There are two flatscreens in the upper rooms, both on mute but the prints, pictures and framed newspapers on the walls were all traditional and lending some character. There was a friendly welcome behind the bar and quite a gaggle of locals.
At each table was a corporate GK menu and the food service offering was at tourist prices with pies £12.79 .None of the locals were eating ,all were drinking. There are 5 handpumps offering on my trip GK Abbott,IPA,St Austell Tribute coming soon(arggghh) and TT Landlord (Musty NBSS 2,£4.80)
Decent interior, shame about the ale quality but at least it retains a boozer atmosphere this close to the tourist hot spot of Marble Arch.

Greene King pub with main room to the centre and also room to the left. The bar follows the rooms round. Five hand pumps of usual G/K ales. Two TVs.

Like this pub a lot. Very good tribute.

Just the correct anount of busyness on a Tuesday evening.

About as good as you will find in the area.

A formulaic TW outlet just off Oxford St at the Marble Arch end, there is in fact an old street sign of the same inside. L-shaped bar area with a stained boarded floor, chequered splash area around the bar. Up a step to a side room which is carpeted, The Royal Savoy Room, slogans on the walls and beams in here, some worth it, others not. The fire was lit on what was a warm day, yes it gives character and atmosphere but it was just too hot. Big on food, large menus abound but the beer selection was rather dull, Pride, Doom Bar, Tribute, Landlord and Westerham 1730 which seems to be now a TW standard branded beer. 10% Camra discount mellowed it a bit. Stack full of Middlesbrough fans for the following day's play off final. It was ok.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Three Tuns

Touristy, I suppose, but this is a pleasantly cluttered Taylor Walker pub of the traditional sort. Rectangular bar with various seating areas and the side Royal Savoy Room. Silent sports TVs and background music of the Glenn Campbell variety(even with some singing along to Rhinestone Cowboy which raised a bit of a smile from many). Four handpumps, offering Wherry, Wainwright, Doom Bar and London Gold (£3.70, and served in a Youngs glass). Overall, it does what it does pretty well, I thought.

This place is ok for a couple of quiet pints in a relaxed atmosphere, but I did find the staff to be slow – although friendly with it. Bombardier, Pride, Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen were available during my visit along with a standard draught selection and my Guinness was well served, in the end.

It is a dark bar with lots of pictures and nick-naks adorning the walls and there are plenty of snug areas to have a conversation with the mates or missus. I spotted a couple of plasma screens that were showing Sky News which was muted due to some decent background music being played.

I'm not a fan of pubs that have condiments on all of the tables as you can get settled and find yourself sitting next to people swilling into a plate of slop covered in ketchup, but this place is big enough to set yourself up for a good night.

I would pop back in if passing.
