Occupying a corner plot at the bottom of Hamilton Road hill, this pub appears to be on the verge as although an ACV has been applied for, locals have been unable to meet the asking price to purchase from Greene King. It's a shame as it isn't the worst pub I've been into, a rough J-shape internally, with a main drinking area entered into, two pool tables in slightly raised area to the left and dart board and oche at the rear. Run down stock, but Skinner's Betty Stogs was available from one of the three pumps and wasn't too bad considering the surrounds. I understand this has been a pub for 300-odd years and you hope places like this survive, but it occupies a decent plot and developers must be licking their lips in anticipation.
