Rebuilt in 1892 on the site of the early 18th century Harp and unsurprisingly, run by Greene King.
Roughly half wood panelled, the walls are smoky blue Anaglypta. On high, the ceiling was clad in what appeared to by brown quarry tiles of some sort. The bar front is panelled and could be original as could be the fairly ornate bar back with some etched and cut-glass mirrors, the name picked out in gold. The floor is modern boarded, lighting is Victorian in style and furniture is traditional, mainly tall, to take advantage of the limited drinking space, with some stools to window drinking ledges. There’s little in the way of décor, save for a few framed prints and music is banal; transient customers come as no surprise.
Ales: three unused pumps, GK IPA and Landlord at a relatively reasonable £2.85 and nice.
This is probably one of the better pubs in the area, but that doesn’t mean it’s good, but I’d prefer it out of necessity if in the area, suffering from an unquenchable thirst.

A carbon copy of The Glassblower over the road, identical beers and menu, wont bother again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Leicester Arms

Reasonable-looking Taylor Walker pub, featuring a relatively small bar (five handpumps) with the chain's characteristic dark-wood interior. Also has a quieter upstairs bar (three handpumps) and dining area. Reasonable selection of real ales - 1730, Greene King IPA, Sambrook's Lavender Hill, Windsor & Eton Corker and Sadler's / Greene King One Hop Stop (£4.14 after 10% Camra discount) - available on this visit.

I thought that this was a pretty good boozer with a better atmosphere than the glassblower across the road. The staff were friendly enough and it seemed to be full of locals. Greene King IPA, Bombardier, Pride and Youngs Special were all available along with a few standard lagers. There is a dining room upstairs that is also available for hire. It is the first pub I have seen this year advertising for Christmas dinner!

All-in-all a decent pub to pop into for a few pints.
