Back in the 1970s this was a noted Whitbread cask ale outlet. Now as part of the pathetic Enterprise pub group they are looking for some mug to take the lease on. What a joke!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Beehive

Smaller, cheaper and altogether more fun that its namesake nearby in Crawford Street. Two real ales on, Pride and TT Landlord (which was fine on my visit). Plain interior and altogether nothing special, but you can certainly find worse in the area.

Looked reasonably traditional from the outside, but not really so on entering. Rather cafe style, with mauve/lilac walls and the lower panelled area painted white. Small single room with a corner bar, wood floor, tea light candles on the tables. Quiet 12ish but quickly filled up and the food appeared popular. Pride and Pedigree on handpump, however the Pride was of mediocre quality.

Pride at £3.10 a pint is the going rate for the area I suppose. Rather a twee little pub in a quaint sort of way. The café impression was enhanced by the tomato ketchup, HP sauce and bottles of vinegar on all the tables. Just needed gingham tablecloths to complete the picture. Nothing really wrong with the place, it's just not my type of pub.
