custodian 42 left this review about Temple Bar

No beer to talk about. Didn't help having the street taken up outside. Nothing to recommend.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Temple Bar

Small-ish pub at street level, formerly known as Milford's, with an upstairs room (never visited). Refurbished with pale green paintwork since I last stopped by in its previous incarnation in 2008. Two of three handpumps in use on this visit, with Bombardier Burning Gold and Mauldon's Bronze Adder (£4.10) available.

Roger Button left this review about Milfords

Previously the “Edinburgh Tavern”, Milfords is a small, single room pub, plainly decorated with bare floors, potted plants and plain windows with venetian blinds and empty champagne bottles. There is an additional bar upstairs although I haven’t bothered to venture up there on any of my infrequent visits.

Given its size, there are a reasonable number of seats although I rarely see it busy even though it does appear to have its own loyal band of local office worker regulars all seemingly known to the bar staff.

3 ales available on my latest visit - Wells Bombardier, Greene King IPA (on the north/south pull contraption) & Hook Norton Old Hooky, the last being not great quality for £3.40’s worth but from my experience of the place, it rarely is despite their Cask Marque accreditation. The food looked very good and was reasonably priced although I didn’t partake in any.

With a plethora of pretty decent pubs within a few minutes walk, I can’t see why anyone would find Milfords remarkable enough to spend much more than a quick pint here but it obviously has a lure for some although I wouldn’t go too far out of my way for it myself given my distinctly average experiences of it in the past.
