With respect to John below, I don’t think ‘Wood and Glass‘ quite covers it. This is a fine example of quality Victoriana pub building . An almost breathtaking display of cut-glass mirrors, mahogany fittings and ornate lamps and dark Victorian colour scheme.
A central bar serving area between the two distinct rooms which now supports six real ale handpumps. These usually include TT Landlord, Deuchars IPA, CW Bombadier, Youngs Bitter and then a couple of revolving guests.
Yes it does attract the tourists and it can be difficult to get a seat and the service can suffer at the busy times. But if you are in Leicester Square then worth searching out for the décor alone..

I had far too many pints of Peeterman Artois in this well kept ornate Victorian pub. It was busy, yet there was plenty of room inside and out. The bar staff were very friendly, as was the inconspicuous bouncer on the door and the beer was excellent.

This is definitely one to revisit.

Fairly large and busy pub.Has 2 bars, one which is large and a much smaller one.Seperate room for eating/drinking.3 real ales on tap.Wood and glass are a large feature of this pub and it is listed on CAMRA Inventory pubs (part 2).Can get packed with tourists.5 mins from Leicester Square tube.

Attractive horseshoe bar, attractive smiling barmaid, some victorian glasswork and ... six real ales. All boded well as I entered this pub, and so it proved. The beers? Youngs,Pride,Bomardier,Deuchers,Old Hooky,St Austell Tribute. Tried the last two named and Hooky was very good, Tribute excellent. Not keen on this area of town but I'll be back for another visit to the Salisbury.
