Soup Dragon left this review about The Nelson Butt

An end terraced Victorian cottage-styled pub. The pub is in cream render, with two white sash windows flanking the central entrance and three smaller upstairs windows. There is some coffee paintwork and blue sills.

The interior has two rooms, but i didn't see the back room as it was in darkness. The main bar is an L-shaped room. It is in coffee and a hunting scene wallpaper - which is a little different, along with coffee and white ceiling and a part carpet and part wood floor. The food seemed to be served to the right on entry, but it was past ordering time and so i can't comment on that. There were a few hunting horns on the walls, but no real pictures. There is a fireplace at ether end of the room and there are sofas and comfy seats. There was no TV that i saw and the music was general at a decent level. The service was functional and the place was quiet except for a group of younger ladies talking about museums - that perked my interest - i do like my museums.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Hardy's and Hansons MILD though this wasn't on. On handpull there were Spekky Hen, GK IPA and Moreland Bitter. The bitter was kept well.

If you like Greene King beer and the comfy seat type of place i am sure you will like this - there is nothing wrong with it at all, it just isn't my personal taste.
