Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Tower Hotel

The Tower Hotel is a reasonably large establishment close to the castle walls. I had to wait a while to be seated, as it was fairly busy. There is a large lounge bar at the front and side, with a patio garden at the rear. Pretty much all tables were taken.

After the wait to be seated, it was another lengthy wait before my order was taken, with further waits for my drink to arrive and to get somebody's attention to paying the bill. Hence why Boris Johnson's announcement about table service being mandatory filling me with dread. In all, I waited 15 minutes from arrival before getting a drink, despite being sat right next to the bar. Staff were doing all they could. But you need a small army to keep service swift in a busy pub that is also serving meals.

The lounge was nicely decorated. Many groups were eating, whilst live football was also being shown on TVs. Atlantic, Tribute & London Pride was the uninspiring real ale choice. I would normally have drunk up quickly and left. But the new Covid precautions prevented me doing so on this occasion.

This is a smart boutique hotel, so unless you were in the know you wouldn't expect it to sell real ale, but it does, in fact it sells 4. It also shows live sport which is a further surprise. There are 2 rooms plus a conservatory area to the rear along with a beer garden. It's all very nicely decorated and the clientele were smart. Friendly service from the barmaid and my pint was in good nick. My notes fail to reveal what beers were available, but I seem to recall London Pride being on there. Way better than I expected and we'd happily call in again when at the top end of the city.

One room to left as you enter. Bar to the right with four real ales - all weak in strength. TV on left side. Also outside seating.

We have walked past this place loads of times and never bothered to go in as we did'nt really like the look of the pub.
Well i finally got to do it while on a recent pub crawl round Lincoln.

Once inside there is an oblongish shaped room which runs to the rear, the room is bare boarded with the bar to the mid right, the seating is two tall tables and stools, pew seating with wicker chairs plus a settee with low chairs, the rear area is in a conservatory, the outside area to the rear looks really nice to sit on a warm day.
I quite liked the look of this place throughout.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep bitter which went down very well, the other bees were Oakham Citra,Taylor Boltmaker and London Pride.
There was a TV on showing rugby and quiet background music was playing.
Despite the look of the pub from the outside, this is a very pleasant place to drink once inside.
I will definatly revisit when with the wife.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Tower Hotel

I was surprised to see a few real ales served in such a trendy boutique hotel. They also had a good range of continental lagers. The food served here is top end and drink prices to match. Ales served are London Pride, Deuchers, Batemans and Everards.
