Steve C left this review about Prince of Wales Inn

The Prince of Wales has high tables in the front left window and a bar counter that runs up the left-hand wall. There’s a carpeted seating area in the front right corner and a stone doorway at the rear leads to more seating and an outside area. Televisions are located throughout for airing live football. Premium and craft keg was available and the three hand pumps were drawing TT Boltmaker and Landlord alongside Lilley’s Mango Cider. The barman was friendly, but there are better pubs in the area so I’ll probably not return.

One long room with bar to the left. Four real ales, nothing above 4.5% ABV.

When i first went in the Prince of Wales it was a John Smiths tied house.
I have been in this pub loads of times with my wife, the pub seems to have been altered quite a lot since my first visit.
Once inside there is now a single oblong shaped room with the bar on the left side,i did'nt really take note of the seating as the pub was so busy with it being standing room only.
There were 5 or 6 pumps on the bar,we had a drink of Taylor Golden Best i think, the one with the reddish pump clip, this was a decent drink,it was far too busy no note other beers, standing room only.
I prefered this pub when it was unaltered.

A tidy corner terraced pub and eatery with a patio area. The frontage looks Victorian, has two storeys and the cottage style front extends further at the back. The pub is mainly in undressed brick, with a nice moulded cornice. The two upper sash windows have green sills and lintels. The lower frontage has white quoins and green signage.

The interior is an L-shaped open plan room, now the rooms have been knocked into one. The serving bar is to the left on entry. The interior is modern, dark gree, grey patterned wallpaper, chocolate, wood panel, exposed stone for example, with a white ceiling and cornice and a mix of stone flag and carpet flooring. The walls had general prints and old photos on. It has tables and a definite food feel overall. We didnt eat here so can't comment on the food - the menu seemed reasonably priced to me though. I didn't see a TV and the background music was general stuff at an OK level. The service was fine, despite the lad not being able to make a cup of tea from the whizzy machine they had. The clientele were mixed and it was quite busy - most seemed to be eating.

Beer; usual taps with Abbott Ale, Black Sheep and a rather poor Everard's Tiger on handpull.

I agree with much of what has been said by ROB and RAR. Trendy type of wine bar approach, if you like it, but a boring choice of real ales and the quality wasn't there either for me. I don't usuall comment on other reviews, but Gordon Reeves was the current owner at the time, so yes, he would say that! Not really one i would go back to.

This is a very trendy pub and I thought the interior was very smart. Also the pub was well run and clean, the staff were friendly and you got good service. The only downside for me is that the choice of ales was quite boring. Serve some local ales and I would defo give a higher rating.

What a great pub. Good real beer on tap. Black Sheep, Everards Tiger and Batemans XXXB last time I looked. Really good food as well which always helps. Best pub in the Bail by a country mile. But I would say that wouldn't I! ;)

This pub has been opened out and refurbished quite nicely in the wine bar style but it still retains a bit of a pub feel. There are lots of leather settles and dining tables with high seating in the window alcoves and it has pictures of old Lincoln all around the walls. Three handpumps on the bar with the most boring and uninventive range imaginable. Black Sheep, Abbot Ale and Deuchars, for Christ’s sake get some imagination! I had a pint of the sheep and the other half had a Deuchars, both were OK, but not great. They might do great food, we didn’t try any as we’d already eaten at the nearby Victoria so I can’t comment on quality. The menu was very similar to the Vic but rather more expensive and the Vic food was excellent. I know where I’d go.
