A very large pub with a small bar area, but a big dining area behind the bar. Claims to open at 11:30 on Mondays, but it wasn't open at 12, although it was open when we called back after going to the Morning Star. Full description by Soupy below. The beer range was somewhat pedestrian given that it's owned by Greene King, but my pint was in good nick.

This is a Greene King corner pub with patio area. A Victorian looking pub, it has a curve rather than a straight corner and is in cream painted brick, with a couple of nice sash windows on the upper storey. The entrance is in a smaller annex to the side.
The interior has an L-shaped room around the serving bar near bisected by a hearth feature (with gas fire) in brick. . One half is a bar area, the other is for the diners. The dbar ecor is coffee, chocolate and exposed brick, with brown seats, white ceiling and a tile floor. The dining area is in wood panel, brick, coffee, chocolate and with a red carpet. I didn't so can't comment on the food. There is a mix of bistro art and odd ephemera, like a golf club. There was no music at my visit and a couple of TVs were on showing sport and general TV. The service was fine and the clientele more mature, with a few eating.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Hardy and Hanson's MILD. On handpull there were GK IPA, GK IPA Gold, Spekky Hen, Black Sheep and a cold Timothy Taylor Landlord.
Seems to be more food orientated. The beer was too cold. Still, worth a visit.

Popped in to this GK pub for a quick visit. It's a L shaped pub with the bar as you enter by a side door. There is a small seating area with TV, and right at the back is mainly dedicated to dining. 5 ales on handpump, TT Landlord, Black Sheep, Abbot Ale, GK IPA and GK XX Mild, which in my opinion, was served far too cold.

This is a 'Hardy and Hansons' pub that keeps an excellent pint. I can recommend the 'Old Trip' for lovers of strong ale. It is a cosy pub with very friendly staff and convivial clientelle. There is a separate restaurant but food is also served in the bar. The food is very good with a wide variety to suite all tastes. Meal deals avalable before 6 p.m. There is a sports telly in the bar as well.
