We'd booked a table to eat on Bank Holiday evening following a visit to the nearby Twinlakes theme park. The Wheel is in a quiet village, not far from the Lincolnshire border.

There is a tiny bar area and a slightly larger dining area, with further tables outside.

Opening hours are fairly limited. Although, they had been opening longer to cope with extra demand from the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Despite the increase in demand, the cask ale selection was limited to Black Sheep Best Bitter & Castle Rock Harvest Gold, which was a little disappointing. I resorted to the draught Thatcher's Old Rascal cider.

Our meal was ok, but was nothing spectacular. I was left wondering how this pub ever made the Good Beer Guide. But its nice location must certainly be a factor.

Attractive ironstone pub under a pan tiled roof, as described by Quinno below. A popular public bar on our early Friday evening visit, with several groups eating in the dining room to the front of the building.Three cask beers available, together wirh craft and industrial keg beers.Of the cask beers,I found Try,Try,Try from Brewsters Brewery an acceptably clean and refreshing Bitter.Tupping Ale from Grainstore was not to my taste, and Black Sheep Best ran out.All real ales were £3.50 per pint.
We found a really warm and welcoming pub, with well cooked meals, though at Southern prices. We would happily return.

Basic T shape rustic locals boozer. Quarry tile flooring, chunky furniture, wood burning stove etc - all very traditional bar the spotlights on the ceiling. To the rear is a large, grassed garden. Three pumps with Black Sheep Bitter, Black Sheep Blitzen and a super Adnams Mosaic as well as Stan' s Big Apple cider, served-up by young staff who looked to be back from University. Expensive for the area at £3.75pp. Noted from the awards on the wall that this was local CAMRA Pub if the Year in 2015 and 16. I quite liked it here though my travelling companion was less keen.
