Fairly large country pub with accommodation, adjacent to the attractive village church.

You enter the pub through a courtyard where the pub's rooms can be found, in addition to a covered area that was presumably added to satisfy Covid dictates.

We arrived mid afternoon to find it fairly quiet. Most people were just leaving or were about to leave. So, I guess it's more popular as a dining destination.

Ales on were bog standard nationals - Black Sheep Best Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord & Sharp's Doom Bar. A Wadworth 6X clip was turned round. Prices are on the steep side.

The interior is nicely appointed, with some kind of mezzanine area above the main bar and a dog peering down at us.

The Hare and Hounds is a strange looking pub has it has no proper frontage, the pub is entered from the car park and through a nice looking courtyard.
Once inside there was an L shaped room that had a few tables for drinkers and most laid out for diners,i also think there was a seperate dining room but i did'nt see this, there was also what looked like a mezzanine towards the front of the pub,the main room was carpeted and had a beamed ceiling which had been painted over in cream like the rest of the pub.
I think this pub is a Marstons house has there were three of their beers on the bar,i had a drink of Marstons EPA which was a decent enough drink the other beers were Pedigree and Banks's Lions Roar.
The pub was very busy with a mixed age range.
This was not really the sort of pub i like, the main bar area seemed more like a waiting area before going through to the hidden room for a meal, having said that as drinkers we were made just as welcome here.
