After a period of closure, this thatched village pub re-opened in December 2019 after the villagers rallied around to secure its future. Set back from Main Street which runs through the heart of the village, this has a small patio out front which is a nice sun trap on a clement day. Entrance is through a centrally-located door which finds the (bricked) main bar centre-right. Flooring is wood laminate, rendered walls have a dark eggshell blue colour and a couple of brick supports hint at previous sub-division in a former life. There's also a nice inglenook fireplace to the left. Standard-ish tables and chairs along with minimal decor; some bric-a-brac above the fireplace and a Hondius world map were all I could see. A cosy breakaway area is located behind the fireplace and there's additional room to the left and behind the bar. London Pride was the sole ale on (a Black Sheep Bitter clip was reversed and a third pump unclipped). It appears that they are sticking with the Pride as their solitary ale offering for the time being. Camden Pale Ale was also available on one of the keg founts. Nothing to set the world alight here, but a village still has its pub which is something to be thankful for and although not packed by any stretch, there were people in using it which was good to see.

My partner and i ate here on Sunday and where very impressed. A new chief has taken over the kitchen and has revamped the restuarant. The food was resonably priced and you got large helpings. The menu catered for evryone, we will definatly be regulars from now on!!
