Decent Steaming Billy outlet with two rooms and seating outside. Six real ales with a 5% ABV available - and drunk. Two stuffed foxes on top of the bar. Would return to this one.

After a lengthy walk from the train station, it was good to see the Steamin Billy dog on the pub sign. We immediately went for the Steamin Billy Tipsy Fisherman, which hit the spot. We also tried a local microbrewery beer, Charnwood Salvation, which was also another good beer. They also had another Steamin Billy beer and two more guests.
The pub consists of two rooms served by a central bar. The left hand side was slightly bigger and was an L shaped room. This side had high table and chairs and further seating around the corner with a tiled fireplace. There was a lobby connecting the two rooms, which was wallpapered depicting landmark London Street names. The slightly smaller right hand side room had various sporting equipment dotted around the walls, old tennis rackets, a pair of skates, boxing clothes etc. The tables this side were made from old cast iron sewing machine stands, with scrubbed pine table tops.

Great Steamin Billy pub with the usual array of beers from the said brewery. I tackled a Tipsy Fisherman, which was excellent. Well worth a visit if you are in Loughborough, despite its out of the way location.

This is a pub I was advised to leave out by someone who knows the area and I was glad I ignored the warning.
It's a classic Midlands red-brick corner pub in the back-streets outside the centre of town. I opted for the smaller bar on the right which was originally the public bar. It was wooden-floored as the pub seemed to be throughout and at the rear of it a darts area. There was a patio that I didn't take too much notice of and a TV screen that thankfully had no sound and was showing Catchphrase with subtitles, a vast improvement and far more intellectually challenging than the stupid football match being shown in the previous pub.
There appeared to be five beers on offer, Steamin' Billy Bitter, Tipsy Fisherman & 1485, Abbeydale Moonshine and Everard's Tiger. The public bar had three handpumps displaying the three Steamin' Billy beers but my 1845 (£3.30)
was served from the saloon bar. It was in excellent nick but not a patch on the Blue Monkey beers in the Organ Grinder.
It's a good traditional pub that is well worth the visit and I would return to try another Steamin' Billy beer.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Paget Arms

A fairly substantial building, set amongst smaller terraced houses. Part-modernised both inside and out. Although not all of the nine handpumps were working, there was an excellent range of beers from owners Steamin' Billy (e.g. Tipsy Fisherman at £2.60) plus a range of guests from breweries including Tring, Everards and Tom Wood's. Well worth seeking out.

Former Everards pub in the back streets off Ashby Rd. Now owned by the local Steamin' Billy brewery offering their own beers plus a couple of guest beers. Well refurbished when it changed hands, simple food available and efficient, friendly service.
