Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Harrow

We were greeted here by a number of young staff. In fact, about 3 different staff members came up to us and asked if we'd booked. They were clearly very busy with diners, but the pub is large and there were plenty of spare tables for drinkers like ourselves. It felt like they were eager to turn us away.

Eventually, somebody was found who could serve us drinks. Chiltern Beechwood Bitter & Pale Ale were the 2 real ales on offer. My Bitter was acceptable.

The interior is fairly modern. But the experience was actually less pretentious than many of the other local dining pubs we tried on the day.

Komakino . left this review about The Harrow

Re-opened at the end of October 2019 after several years' closure and the loss of some of its former grounds to housing, this is now unashamedly a gastropub. Refurbishment has seen the interior opened up and extended to the left and the trappings are all rather contemporary. Three local ales at the jump - XT 4 and two from Chiltern Brewery in the form of Beechwood Bitter and Chiltern Gold. I made a bad choice in opting for the Chiltern Gold which was watery and insipid and £4 for the privilege. My previous and only visit here had been a catch-up with an ex-girlfriend where, after asking for her Cinzano and Lemonade to be poured into a highball glass, the barmaid poured it into a large wine glass(!), so not a great revisit on that front, but I'll applaud any resurrection from the wilderness and be likely give this place another chance.
